METODOLOGIA QUALITATIVA E QUANTITATIVA: PERSPECTIVAS CONVERGENTES NA PESQUISA EMPÍRICA
O presente texto articula elementos da metodologia qualitativa com a metodologia quantitativa, argumentando sobre a importância dessa convergência em pesquisa empírica, como pode-se observar da construção do perfil e análise das práticas dos delegados do Conselho da Administração Participativa de Camaragibe, Pernambuco (2003), com ênfase no grau de instrução, inserção participativa, composição e comportamento nos processos de deliberação de políticas públicas locais. Na metodologia qualitativa, utiliza-se a observação não participante, o questionário de entrevista semiestruturado para a coleta de dados e análises de conteúdo. Com a metodologia quantitativa trabalha-se os dados numéricos e o perfil dos conselheiros. A metodologia foi elemento central para conduzir a investigação a apontar alguns elementos que caracterizam atitudes e comportamento dos conselheiros.

Abstract:
The following article articulates elements of qualitative and quantitative methodology, arguing about the importance of this convergence in the empirical research, as the example of the construction of the profile and analysis of the practicing Camaragibe's Board of participative Administration’s employees, Pernambuco (2003), that took emphasis in the level of instruction, participative insertion, composition and behavior in the local public politic’s deliberation process. In the qualitative methodology, the non-participative observation was utilized, in alliance with the interview’s semistructured questionnarie, to collect data and analyze content. In the quantitative methodology, the work consistes of numerical data and councilor’s profiles. The methodology was the central element to guide the investigation to point out some of the elements that characterizes the action and behavior of the councilors.
