Abstract: The addressed topic focuses on essential strategies for preventing and controlling infections at the surgical site, aiming to reduce potential complications after surgical interventions. These measures comprise a series of practices from thorough assessment and comprehensive patient preparation before the procedure to careful tissue handling during surgery. Among the fundamental measures, the appropriate use of prophylactic antibiotics, meticulous preparation of the incision site through delicate hair removal techniques, and judicious application of antiseptics are highlighted. Additionally, precise glycemic control in diabetic patients during the perioperative period is emphasized as crucial. Furthermore, patient education about the importance of infection prevention and strict adherence to medical guidance are considered key components in this process. By consistently and appropriately adopting these practices, it is possible to significantly reduce the risk of surgical site infections, providing a safer and more effective recovery for patients after the surgical procedure.
