MATEMÁTICA EPISTOLAR
O presente trabalho contém elementos de minha tese bem como de minha pesquisa “Matemática epistolar” desenvolvida na Universidade Estadual do Sudoeste da Bahia à luz da análise de algumas correspondências trocadas entre matemáticos que em muito contribuíram para a difusão dessa ciência nos séculos XVII ao XIX. A história da Matemática revela que por meio de epístolas, descobertas, novas teorias foram divulgadas antes mesmo de serem publicadas nos meios científicos da época além de revelar sentimentos entre seus pares.

Abstract:
The present work contains elements of my thesis as well as of my research "Mathematical epistolary" developed at the State University of Southwest of Bahia in the light of the analysis some correspondences exchanged between mathematicians who contributed a lot to the diffusion of this science in the 17th and 19th centuries. The history of mathematics reveals that through epistles, discoveries, new theories were released even before they were published in the scientific circles of the time as well as revealing feelings among their peers.
