Abstract: The present study aims to understand what has been produced about the support network of mothers for the care of children and adolescents with special health needs who live in rural areas in the context of postgraduate studies in Brazil. This is a bibliographic literature review study carried out from a systematic search for theses and dissertations in the Database of Theses and Dissertations of the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES) based on Health Descriptors (DECs): “ network”, “support”, “mothers”, “care”, “child”, “adolescent” and “disease” with the help of the Boolean descriptor “AND'', in the time frame from 1998 to 2023, totaling 10 publications. After submitting the pre-established inclusion criteria, the study corpus consisted of 8 theses/dissertations. In the years 2011 and 2022, there was a greater number of publications, with two in each. In Brazil, the northeast region was the region with the most publications on the subject. Of the 8 publications, 7 were master's theses, mainly with a qualitative approach. Furthermore, studies cite support networks as a fundamental factor in the CSHCN care process, but consider them fragile or non-existent. From the findings, the need to address the support network of mothers living in rural areas is visible, as well as providing opportunities for mothers caring for CSHCN to have their voices heard. Furthermore, working on this topic associated with rural areas reveals the importance of discussing the accessibility of mothers of CSHCN to support networks for their care and development.
