LOS IDEALES DE COMODIDAD Y ASPECTO PÚBLICO EN EL URBANISMO ILUSTRADO ESPAÑOL E HISPANOAMERICANO”
Este artículo tiene como objeto analizar el proceso de implantación de los fundamentos de comodidad y aspecto público en las ciudades españolas e hispanoamericanas, los cuales, surgidos dentro de la reflexión teórica de la tratadística sobre Policía -erigida en institución garante del orden político y social- nacieron como una traslación al espacio urbano del nuevo ideal de felicidad como elemento aglutinador y justificante de la existencia y de la acción de gobierno de las monarquías del despotismo ilustrado y, en concreto, de las políticas reformadoras de la dinastía de los Borbones. En este contexto, se evalúa la incidencia que la Policía urbana tuvo en el establecimiento de la idea de comodidad a través de la creación de infraestructuras y servicios inéditos o que habían tenido, hasta entonces, un escaso desarrollo en el ámbito de las ciudades caso del empedrado, la limpieza, el alumbrado o el ornato públicos. Derivado de la mejora de este último surge el nuevo ideal del aspecto público responsable de la mejora y embellecimiento del espacio urbano.

Abstract:
This article aims to analyze the process of implementation of the foundations of comfort and public appearence in Spanhis and Latin American cities, which emerged within the theoretical reflection of the treatise on Police –established as an institution that guarantees the political and social order-They were born as a translation to the urban space of the new ideal of happiness as a unifying element and proof of the existence and government action of the enlightened despotism monarchies and, specifically, of the reforming policies of the Bourbon dynasty. In this context, the impact that the urban pólice had on the establishement of the idea of confort throung the creation of unprecedented infraestructures and services or that had had, until then, little development in the field of cities, in the case of public paving, cleaning, lighting or decoration. Derived from the improvement of the latter arises the new ideal of the public aspect responsible for the improvement and beautification of the urban space.
