Abstract: Objective: To reflect on the theme of leadership and well-being in the context of nursing management in healthcare organizations and in the current context. Experience report: Training and reading the theme nursing leadership, motivated me to look more closely at the relationship between the leadership style of the nursing manager and the well-being of nurses as members of a team and an institution. It is believed that the transformational leadership style promotes the well-being of nurses with possible results in the productivity and effectiveness of the nurse's actions, but above all in retention in the profession and in the institution. Final considerations: How to lead and which are the best leadership styles to mobilize/adopt is the challenge for all nurse managers. The need to lead, but also to retain nurses in organizations, leads to leadership that promotes the well-being of nurses and more favorable nursing practice environments.
