Abstract: This work aims to discuss the General Data Protection Law (LGPD), as well as the hospital adequacy process in accordance with the requirements of the legislation. The General Data Protection Law, No. 13.709 / 18, emerged with the aim of regulating the processing of personal data in addition to the purpose of protecting and informing the natural person, thus generating more security in the processes of zeal for personal information and personal data information. It is a fact that many business segments, as well as public and private organizations are already in search of good practices and ways to better adapt to the new law, this search is due to the application of sanctions by the National Data Protection Authority - ANPD, which are already being applied. We will demonstrate in this work that this new one brings great positive effects, but also adds great challenges, especially with regard to the area of personal information security. We will analyze a way in which hospitals will adapt to the new religion of the LGPD, following the following questions: the health outlets that will make it clear to all their audiences the reasons why their data is being received? Does the public have the right to know for qualifications will these data be used? To what extent are hospitals aware of the law and how will they comply? The qualitative-quantitative approach, the hypothetical-deductive method, as well as the techniques of documental and bibliographic research and data collection will be used. The aim of this work is to demonstrate the need for adequacy in the health area, specifically in the hospital environment, as well as to understand the need of hospitals in relation to compliance with the law and possible solutions as problems faced for adequacy.
