Este trabalho se propôs a apresentar

resultados parciais de pesquisa exploratória

e bibliográfica, com abordagem histórica, cujo

tema se concentra em compreender como o

ensino religioso está apresentado na legislação

brasileira. Os objetivos da pesquisa são:

observar como a disciplina de ensino religioso

tem sido observada no país e como a legislação

educacional a tem amparado no decorrer das

mudanças legais. Para melhor compreender o

tema abordado, elaborou-se como problemática

o seguinte questionamento: Como a legislação

brasileira, no percurso da história, tem tratado

a questão do ensino religioso no Brasil e

contribuído para a sua manutenção dentro do

currículo da Educação Básica? A hipótese que

tem conduzido esta pesquisa aponta que a

história do Brasil e a história do ensino religioso

no país seguem entrelaçadas, desde a época

da colonização, sendo assim, estudar o tema

“ensino religioso” também perpassa por estudar

a própria história do país. Como referencial

teórico para o desenvolvimento da pesquisa,

foram selecionados autores reconhecidos no

estudo da história do Ensino Religioso no Brasil

e que participam diretamente das discussões

sobre o tema.

Abstract:
In this text, partial results of

exploratory and bibliographical research with a

historical approach are presented, whose theme

deals with the way in which religious teaching is

presented in Brazilian legislation. The objectives

of the research are: to show how the topic has

been treated in Brazil and how the legislation

has protected it in the country. In order to better

understand the topic, the following question was elaborated as a problematic: How has

Brazilian legislation, in the course of history, addressed the issue of religious education

in Brazil and contributed to its maintenance within the Basic Education curriculum?

The hypothesis that has led this research indicates that the history of Brazil and that of

religious education in the country have been followed since the time of the colonization,

so, studying the theme “religious teaching” also includes studying the country’s own

history. As a theoretical reference for the development of the research, we selected the

authors who are recognized in the study of the history of Religious Education in Brazil

and who participate directly in the discussions on the topic.
