• Abstract: Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy (DPN) as a chronic, irreversible complication and whose cardinal symptom that predominates in the condition is pain, which contributes to causing changes and alterations in the emotional sphere and therefore in the patient's mental health. The purpose was to analyze the main characteristics of the publications registered in the Scopus and Wos database, references to how treatment in patients with Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy can benefit their quality of life, and therefore their Mental Health, under the PRISMA approach (Preferred Reporting). Items for Systematic reviews and Meta-Analyses) a systematic review was carried out, achieving the identification of 116 publications in total, refining the results through the keywords presented in the search button of both platforms, which were "MENTAL HEALTH" and " DIABETIC PERIPHERAL NEUROPATHY” reaching a total of 11 documents, already excluding duplicates and those that did not meet the analysis criteria. The findings in relation to the perception of patients suffering from NPD reported that pain relief is associated with good levels of quality of life, which reduces stress, depression, loss of sleep and other factors that can threaten mental health. thereof.
