Abstract: Education in Mexico underwent a radical change due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Distance education was adopted and adapted in various modalities during this period, which implies that the same pattern was repeated in Mexico City. Teachers had a greater responsibility in handling information and communication technologies, while students faced a technological gap that affected the consolidation of significant learning. Thus, this research was conducted using a qualitative methodological design based on an integrative documentary review, with a descriptive-correlational and deductive scope. The observation period ranged from January 1, 2020, to June 29, 2023, analyzing 36 peer-reviewed articles, with a particular focus on 5 of them. The results indicate that technological adaptability among teachers and students in higher education in Mexico City during the COVID-19 pandemic (2020-2022) was good for those who had access to it, but not successful due to the detected segregation resulting from the technological gap.
