KAHOOT AS AN EDUCATIONAL TOOL FOR THE MULTIMODAL TEACHING OF ORGANIC CHEMISTRY IN A MULTIMODAL EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM
La enseñanza del tema de alquenos y sus reacciones (eliminación y adición) dentro de la asignatura de Química orgánica es fundamental para el estudiante del nivel medio superior, debido a la importancia de este grupo funcional dentro de las síntesis de compuestos, sin embargo, el modelo tradicional de enseñanza no despierta el interés en los alumnos, por lo cual, es necesario utilizar un modelo educativo basado en el construccionismo y que, a su vez, incorpore y ponga en práctica las TIC para acrecentar el interés y desempeño de los alumnos. Por lo cual la contingencia sanitaria, ocasionada por la pandemia de SARS-COV2, supuso un reto y una oportunidad para poder implementar un modelo multimodal con el cual mejorar el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje. El objetivo del presente estudio es implementar el uso de la herramienta educativa Kahoot, para incrementar la motivación y el rendimiento escolar en estudiantes de la Escuela de Bachilleres de la Universidad Autónoma de Querétaro (EBA-UAQ). El uso de Kahoot bajo un modelo multimodal incrementó el rendimiento académico en el tema de “Alquenos y sus reacciones”, por lo que, los alumnos identifican esta herramienta como una opción motivadora durante su estudio.

Abstract:
The teaching of the subject of alkenes and their reactions (elimination and addition) within the subject of Organic Chemistry is fundamental for the high school student, due to the importance of this functional group within the synthesis of compounds, however, the traditional teaching model does not arouse interest in students, therefore, it is necessary to use an educational model based on constructionism that, in turn, incorporates and puts TICs into practice to increase the interest and performance of students. Therefore, the health contingency, caused by the SARS-COV2 pandemic, was a challenge and an opportunity to implement a multimodal model with which to improve the teaching-learning process. The objective of this study is to implement the use of the educational tool Kahoot, to increase motivation and school performance in students of the High School of the Autonomous University of Querétaro (EBA-UAQ). The use of Kahoot under a multimodal model increased academic performance in the topic of "Alkenes and their reactions", so students identify this tool as a motivating option during their study.
