IRRADIAÇÃO NOS MORANGOS E OS BENEFÍCIOS DESTE PROCEDIMENTO USANDO EQUIPAMENTOS DE RAIO X
O objetivo deste trabalho é aumentar a vida útil e obter uma durabilidade maior no tempo de conservação dos morangos, o tempo maior de vida pós-colheita para o morango é de dez dias, e só é alcançado se os frutos forem mantidos refrigerados em baixas temperaturas. O procedimento utilizando radiação ionizante pode retardar o período de maturação e de deterioração fúngica do morango, assim aumentando a qualidade e durabilidade, e conseqüentemente inibindo o brotamento e apodrecimento do fruto, atrasando assim sua decomposição e aumentando o tempo de prateleira, e estendendo a sua conservação sem refrigeração.

Abstract:
The objective of this work is to increase the shelf life and obtain a longer shelf life for strawberries, the longest postharvest life time for strawberries is ten days, and is only achieved if the fruits are kept refrigerated at low temperatures. The procedure using ionizing radiation can delay the maturation and fungal deterioration period of the strawberry, thus increasing the quality and durability, and consequently inhibiting the sprouting and rotting of the fruit, thus delaying its decomposition and increasing the shelf life, and extending its conservation without refrigeration.
