INVESTIGAÇÃO MATEMÁTICA: UMA ABORDAGEM PARA O ENSINO DA ÁLGEBRA
Este trabalho tem como objetivo apresentar aos colegas de profissão a Investigação Matemática como metodologia de ensino, e relatar uma aplicação dessa metodologia com alunos de um colégio. As investigações matemáticas envolvem de forma natural o desenvolvimento de conceitos, elaboração de procedimentos e de representações matemáticas, levando o estudante a um processo de construção da matemática, o que tende a elevar o espírito investigativo entre os alunos e o gosto pela descoberta. Para isso, elencamos algumas atividades que envolvem a exploração do conteúdo de álgebra através de problemas curiosos e de questões adaptadas das Olimpíadas Brasileira de Matemática das Escolas Públicas (OBMEP). Destacando que neste trabalho apresentaremos somente uma dessas atividades com análise dos dados. Observamos que, apesar de apresentarem dificuldades iniciais com relação ao desenvolvimento da investigação, os alunos conseguiram melhorar o raciocínio e a percepção quanto à construção de um caminho para resolução de situações-problemas, deixando de lado, mesmo que timidamente, o vício de recorrer sempre a uma fórmula matemática e à ajuda do professor, passando a tentar criar suas próprias estratégias para investigação das situações propostas.

Abstract:
This work aims to introduce mathematical research as a teaching methodology to professional colleagues, and to report an application of this methodology with students from a school. Mathematical investigations naturally involve the development of concepts, elaboration of procedures and mathematical representations, leading the student to a process of construction of mathematics, which tends to elevate the investigative spirit among students and the taste for discovery. For this, we list some activities that involve the exploration of algebra content through curious problems and questions adapted from the Brazilian Mathematics Olympiad of Public Schools (OBMEP). Highlighting that in this work we will present only one of these activities with data analysis. We observed that, despite presenting initial difficulties in relation to the development of the investigation, the students managed to improve their reasoning and perception regarding the construction of a way to solve problem situations, leaving aside, even if timidly, the addiction to always resort to a mathematical formula and the help of the teacher, trying to create their own strategies for investigating the proposed situations.
