INTERFACE COM FORNECEDOR: BENEFÍCIOS DA APLICAÇÃO DO SISTEMA MILK RUN, UMA PESQUISA-AÇÃO NA INDÚSTRIA AUTOMOTIVA (TIER 1)
O processo de milk run é largamente
aplicado na indústria automobilística,
principalmente entre as montadoras de
veículos e seus fornecedores de primeiro nível,
conhecidos como tier 1. Nos últimos anos,
observa-se a crescente utilização do sistema
milk run aplicados pelos fornecedores tier 1 em
seus fornecedores, conhecidos como tier 2. No
entanto, é usual encontrar aplicações deste
sistema baseadas apenas nos benefícios de
redução de custos de transporte, não explorando
os beneficios totais do uso deste sistema. Este
artigo aborda, por meio de uma pesquisa-ação
em uma empresa tier 1, os benefícios totais da
utilização do sistema de milk run, considerando
os aspectos logísticos de custo de transporte,
ergonomia, gestão de embalagem, redução de
resíduos e logística reversa. Com a aplicação
deste sistema, a empresa apresentou melhorias
significativas que auxiliaram na gestão eficiente
de suas atividades logísticas.

Abstract:
The milk run process is largely
applied in the automotive industry, mainly
between the automakers and their suppliers
of first level, known as tier 1. Recent years,
have seen an increase in the use of the milk
run system applied by tier1 suppliers to their
suppliers, known as tier 2. However, it´s normal
to encounter applications of this system based
only on the benefits of the reduction of freight
cost, without exploring the total benefits of
the milk run system. This article approaches,
through a research-action in a tier 1 company,
the total benefits of the utilization of the milk
run system, considering the logistical aspects
of the freight costs, ergonomics, packaging
management, waste reduction and reverse
logistics. With the application of this system,
the company showed significant improvements
that helped in the efficient management of their
logistics activities.
