Abstract: Patient health and occupational health are fundamental components for the quality, safety of healthcare and the protection of professionals. This study aims to investigate the integration of these practices in the context of Sustainable Development Goal 3 (SDG 3), which seeks to promote health and well-being for all. The aim is to explore how adopting a safety culture can improve the quality of healthcare services and ensure a safe working environment. The methodology used included a review of the literature on patient safety and occupational health practices, focusing on recent studies that address the intersection of these areas and their relationship with SDG 3. Articles that address technological advances, institutional policies, and the application of safety management systems. The results indicate that the implementation of safety practices is associated with a reduction in medical errors and occupational injuries. The discussion highlights the importance of a safety culture that includes effective leadership, provision of personal protective equipment and ongoing training for healthcare professionals. However, challenges such as fragmented infrastructure and policies still persist, making it difficult to create a truly safe work environment. The integration of patient safety and occupational health strategies, aligned with the goals of SDG 3, is essential to building resilient and efficient health systems. Promoting a healthy work environment not only protects healthcare professionals, but also ensures high-quality care for patients.
