INFORMAÇÕES DE INTERESSE DO CIRURGIÃO-DENTISTA E DO PACIENTE SOBRE HMI E HMD
A prevalência de defeitos de desenvolvimento de esmalte (DDE) é crescente no mundo. Dentre eles, a hipomineralização de molares e incisivos (HMI) permanentes e hipomineralização de molares decíduos (HMD) ainda são desafios para prática clínica e cuidado do paciente e/ou responsáveis. Deste modo, estratégias preventivas são propostas para evitar o agravamento destas condições. Diante o exposto, o objetivo da presente revisão de literatura foi compilar as principais evidências científicas sobre a HMI/HMD, enfatizando a definição, fatores etiológicos, características clínicas diagnóstico diferencial e estratégias preventivas e terapêuticas propostas na atualidade, bem como, elaborar um livro eletrônico informativo (e-Book) informativo destinado aos pais e responsáveis. Foram utilizados artigos científicos indexados nas bases de dados PubMed e Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde durante os últimos 10 anos. Foram excluídos anais de congressos, cartas ao editor, relatos de caso e séries de casos. Para elaboração do e-Book, a presente revisão foi adequada com linguagem coloquial. Pode-se concluir, com esta revisão, que HMI/HMD é complexa e necessita de uma abordagem minuciosa, humanizada e individualizada. Atualizações regulares sobre cuidados preventivos e opções terapêuticas se fazem de extrema importância. Em relação aos pais e pacientes, espera-se que o e-Book possa orientar e auxiliar no convívio com esse tipo de DDE e, ainda, melhorar a qualidade de vida, bem como na manutenção preventiva alcançada com as consultas odontológicas especializadas.

Abstract:
The prevalence of enamel developmental defects (EDD) is increasing worldwide. Among them, molar and incisor hypomineralization (MIH) and hypomineralization of primary molars (HPM) are still challenges for clinical practice and the management of patients and / or guardians. Thus, preventive strategies are proposed to avoid the worsening of these conditions. In view of this, the objective of this literature’s review was to collect the main scientific evidence on MIH / HPM, with emphasis on the definition, etiological factors, clinical characteristics, diagnosis differential and preventive and therapeutic strategies currently offered, as well as the preparation of an interactive online book for parents and guardians. Last 10 years cientific articles indexed in the PubMed and Virtual Health Library databases have been used in this review. Letters to the editor, conference proceedings, case reports and case series were excluded. For the development of the eBook, this review was written in a familiar language. It can be concluded, with this review, that the MIH / HPM is complex and requires a detailed, humanized and individualized approach. Regular updates on preventive care and treatment options are extremely important. As far as parents and patients are concerned, the e-Book is expected to be able to guide and help in living with this type of EDD and also improve the quality of life, as well as in preventive maintenance carried out with specialized dental consultations.
