Abstract: The search for materials with suitable properties for a specific application and low cost stimulates the development of research aimed at improving these specific properties. Therefore, this work aims to analyze the influence of artificial aging heat treatment (200 °C and 350 °C) on the macrography and microhardness of the binary alloy Al-1%Ni. Metallography was performed on the samples to enable macrostructural analysis, as well as the Vickers microhardness test. The obtained results were compared, showing macroscopic changes with an increase in the presence of equiaxed grains. This condition influenced the microhardness results of the samples. The heat-treated alloys at 200 and 300 °C exhibited a hardness of 61,91 and 62,04 HV, respectively, which are higher than the hardness of the untreated alloy, which recorded 31,76 HV. This shows that the heat treatment modified the structures of the alloys, resulting in an increase in their hardness.
