IMPORTÂNCIA DOS TESTES LABORATORIAIS PARA DIAGNÓSTICO DO COVID-19: UMA REVISÃO DA LITERATURA
O coronavirus disease 2019, mais conhecido como, COVID-19 e, cientificamente (SARS-CoV-2) é uma doença infecciosa ocasionada por uma nova manifestação do Corona Vírus. Devido a rápida propagação a um nível mundial, a Organização Mundial da Saúde (OMS) declarou no dia 11 de março de 2020, a infecção COVID-19, sendo uma pandemia. O laboratório clínico é uma ferramenta essencial e muito importante para realizar diagnósticos e acompanhamentos, ajudando no prognóstico e diagnóstico de qualquer patologia ativa ou não. O COVID-19 tornou-se um grande desafio para vários países, principalmente no Brasil. A comunidade científica continua trabalhando para desvendar esse “novo” vírus, desde a descoberta e com os estudos que foram realizados, passou-se a utilizar testes com fundamentos imunológicos para a detecção do vírus. O objetivo desse trabalho é adquirir conhecimento sobre a importância dos testes laboratoriais para diagnóstico do COVID-19; explicar como funciona os testes de detecção do COVID-19; Descrever as características dos testes laboratoriais; apontar a importância da confiabilidade dos testes laboratoriais e mostrar o impacto que os testes laboratoriais propiciam no diagnóstico do Corona Vírus. Diante disso, ressalta-se a importância da confirmação dos indivíduos que podem estar contaminados com o vírus, utilizando testes laboratoriais a fim de proporcionar um controle maior da doença.

Abstract:
Coronavirus disease 2019, better known as COVID-19 and, scientifically, (SARS-CoV-2) is an infectious disease caused by a new manifestation of the Corona Virus. Due to the rapid spread to a worldwide level, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared on March 11, 2020, the COVID- 19 infection to be a pandemic. The clinical laboratory is an essential and very important tool to carry out diagnoses and follow-ups, helping in the prognosis and diagnosis of any active or non-active pathology. COVID-19 has become a great challenge for several countries, especially in Brazil. The scientific community continues to work to unravel this “new” virus, since its discovery and with the studies that have been carried out, tests with immunological foundations have been used to detect the virus. The objective of this work is to acquire knowledge about the importance of laboratory tests for the diagnosis of COVID-19; explain how COVID-19 detection tests work; Describe the characteristics of laboratory tests; point out the importance of the reliability of laboratory tests and show the impact that laboratory tests provide in the diagnosis of Corona Virus. Therefore, it emphasizes the importance of confirming individuals who may be infected with the virus, using laboratory tests in order to provide greater control of the disease.
