Abstract: Continuing education trains nurses to stay up-to-date with the latest research and guidelines, basing their practice on current scientific evidence. This helps minimize errors and optimize the quality of care provided General Objective: Determine the importance of continuing education in nursing practice based on Patricia Benner's theory Methodology: The methodology used was qualitative, based on a systematic review documentary. Texts and scientific publications relevant to the topic were analyzed, applying rigorous inclusion criteria to select current materials (less than 5 years old) indexed in reliable databases and published on official websites. The analysis and integration of the information was carried out using research methods, including inductive and deductive reasoning. Conclusion: Continuing education not only enriches the knowledge and skills of nurses, but also strengthens their ability to provide high-quality care and adapt to the constant changes and challenges of the healthcare environment.
