IMPORTÂNCIA DA AVALIAÇÃO DO FLUIDO RUMINAL NA DETECÇÃO DE ALTERAÇÕES DO TRATO DIGESTÓRIO DOS RUMINANTES DOMÉSTICOS
A avaliação do fluido ruminal tem a função de verificar a possibilidade de distúrbios metabólicos subclínicos associados ao trato digestório, sendo possível avaliar, segundo parâmetros estabelecidos, a normalidade química e fisica da amostra, a qual reflitirá, consequentemente, no estado do animal. Em ruminantes transtornos metabólicos e digestivos ocorrem com muita frequência, dentre eles estão a indigestão simples, alcalose ruminal, intoxicação por ureia e acidose ruminal aguda. Portanto, a análise do líquido ruminal pode auxiliar o clínico no diagnóstico do animal e, além disso, pode ser utilizado em terapia para o estabelecimento apropriado da flora ruminal, sendo realizada a transfaunação ruminal.

Abstract:
The ruminal fluid evaluation has the function of verifying the possibility of subclinical metabolic disorders associated with the digestive tract, being possible to evaluate, according to established parameters, the chemical and physical normality of the sample, which will consequently reflect on the state of the animal. In ruminants metabolic and digestive disorders occur very frequently, among them are simple indigestion, rumen alkalosis, urea poisoning and acute ruminal acidosis. Therefore, the analysis of the ruminal fluid can assist the clinician in the diagnosis of the animal and, in addition, it can be used in therapy for the proper establishment of the ruminal flora (rumen transfaunation).
