HOTELARIA COMO VALORIZAÇÃO DA MEMÓRIA DA CIDADE DO RIO DE JANEIRO: O COPACABANA PALACE HOTEL
O artigo busca analisar a contribuição e importância de um meio de hospedagem como constituinte da memória social na cidade do Rio de Janeiro. Busca compreender a relevância da preservação da memória social de um grupo e analisar como a atividade turística pode beneficiá-lo, com a conservação de sua memória e valorização de sua identidade cultural, utilizando como case o Copacabana Palace Hotel. O turismo, e consequentemente, a hotelaria, são atividades capazes de auxiliar na obtenção de resultados relevantes no que cerne à preservação da memória e identidade ao apresentar para turistas e/ou visitantes a essência e os significados do patrimônio. Os resultados mostram o desencadeamento da cidade do Rio de Janeiro como destino turístico para o mundo, e consequentemente, a construção do processo histórico da memória da formação populacional e como esta é formadora da identidade coletiva desse espaço.

Abstract:
The paper analyzes the contribution and importance of a lodging facility as a constituent of social memory Rio de Janeiro’s city. Seeks to understand the importance of preserving the social memory of a group and analyze how tourism can benefit, with the conservation of its memory and appreciation of their cultural identity, using as case the Copacabana Palace Hotel. Tourism, and consequently the hospitality are activities that can assist in obtaining relevant results in heart to preserve the memory and identity to present to tourists and/or visitors the essence and meaning of heritage. The results show the triggering of the city of Rio de Janeiro as a tourist destination to the world, and consequently the construction of the historical process of memory formation population and how it is shaping the collective identity of this space.
