• Abstract:

  At the eminence of a global environmental catastrophe, the world turns

  to avaliate the impacts generated by human presence in the environments in which

  they coexist. To safeguard areas of significant ecological value, governments have

  created environmental protection laws by instituting conservation units across the

  globe. In the Itaituba city within the urban area there are areas of environmental

  protection that serve to protect areas of special ecological and landscape value, but

  due to the proximity to the urban zone suffers a constant threat of degradation. The

  present study aimed to know the types of environmental impacts found in Lago

  Bom Jardim / Passa Tudo, as well as other chemical and physical parameters of

  environmental quality evaluation, in order to classify the biological integrity of the

  Lake up to the Tapajós River mouth. Even it is an Environmental Protection Area -

  APA located in an urban perimeter in the Municipality of Itaituba. In order to arrive

  at the consistent results, we conducted visits with photographic surveys and

  samples of water samples for pH and electrical conductivity studies, together with

  10 sampling stations with benthic invertebrates. Through the collection of these

  elements results can be reached that puts the APA in question in the list of worries

  in terms of conservation serving as an alert for the managers of this Environmental

  Protection Area.
