HIV: A IMPORTÂNCIA DA TERAPIA ANTIRRETROVIRAL
INTRODUÇÃO: A Síndrome da Imunodeficiência Humana Adquirida (AIDS) é uma patologia infecciosa crônica causada pelo vírus do HIV, sendo descrita pela primeira vez em 1981. As DO são patologias que se manifestam porque o paciente está com o sistema imune afetado. No ano de 1996 foi apresentado o tratamento para pacientes infectados pelo o HIV, esse tratamento consiste na associação de drogas antirretrovirais. METODOLOGIA: Trata-se de uma revisão bibliográfica com o objetivo de verificar a importância da Terapia Antirretroviral no HIV. A busca pelos textos foi realizada a partir das seguintes palavras-chaves indexadas no DECs: “HIV”, “Terapia Antirretroviral” e “Doenças oportunistas”, na plataforma SCIELO (Scientific Eletronic Library Online) entre os anos de 2015 a 2019. RESULTADOS E DISCUSSÃO: Estudos realizados em crianças, adultos e idosos mostram que a terapia antirretroviral diminuiu significativamente as infecções oportunistas, consequentemente diminuindo a quantidade e a duração das internações dos pacientes, melhorando a qualidade de vida e a sobrevida dos portadores da doença. CONCLUSÃO: Considerando as evidências que foram destacadas nos estudos analisados, a adesão correta da terapia antirretroviral tem diminuído as taxas de mortalidade e aumentado à qualidade de vida dos indivíduos portadores do vírus HIV.

Abstract:
INTRODUCTION: The Human Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS) is a chronic infectious disease caused by the HIV virus, being described for the first time in 1981. Those are pathologies that arise because the patient is with the immune system affected. In the year of 1996 was presented the treatment for patients infected by HIV, this treatment consists in the association of antiretroviral drugs. METHODOLOGY: It is a literature review with the purpose of verifying the importance of Antiretroviral Therapy in HIV. The search was performed by texts from the following keywords are indexed in DECs: "HIV", "Antiretroviral therapy" and "opportunistic", on the platform of Scielo (Scientific Electronic Library Online) between the years of 2015 to 2019. RESULTS AND DISCUSSION: studies in children, adults and elderly patients show that the antiretroviral therapy significantly decreased the opportunistic infections, consequently decreasing the amount and duration of hospitalizations of patients, improving the quality of life and survival of patients with the disease. CONCLUSION: Considering the evidences that were highlighted in the studies analyzed, the correct adherence to antiretroviral therapy has decreased the mortality rates and increased the quality of life of patients infected with the HIV virus.
