Abstract:
This article is the result of a research on the teaching of History of Education in the Pedagogy Course, of the Federal University of Piauí (UFPI), Campus Senador Helvídio Nunes de Barros (city of Picos/PI). The primary objective of this research was to historiograph the teaching of the discipline History of Education. The study period runs from 1982 to 2006. We base our foundation on the New Cultural History, especially with the ideas of Peter Burke (2001); Hunt (2001); Chartier (2000); Nóvoa (1998); Gatti Júnior and Inácio Filho (2005); Carvalho (2005); Silva (1999) and Padilha (2004); Horn and Germinari (2006). As for the methodology we consulted, in addition to bibliographic sources, documentary sources contained in the Dead Archive of this HEI (course plans), and oral sources (interviews with professors teaching the discipline), on this material we are carrying out the first analyses, since we intend to expand our sources of consultations by interviewing the students who attended the discipline in the period described above.The text points out, some curricular theories, since the object of study requires such foundation, then we lecture on the institutionalization of the discipline under study in the course of Pedagogy, Campus of Picos, and, finally, we present the reports of the teachers about the teaching of the discipline in question.
