• Abstract:

  The present research is a study on teenage pregnancy and perinatal in the city of Assis-SP. This is a retrospective observational descriptive study of births among adolescent women living in Assis-SP, which took place between the years 1994 and 2018. The research had the general objective of calculating the proportion of live births to adolescent mothers concerning the total number of births and calculating the specific fertility rate in adolescents and women's socioeconomic and demographic profiles. In the municipality of Assis-SP, over 24 years of study, a progressive decrease in the number of pregnant adolescents was observed. In addition, decrease in the specific fertility rate in adolescence. Most pregnant teenagers in the city of Assis-SP are white and single, in a higher proportion than that exposed by IBGE in national data. Apgar in the fifth-minute score of less than eight was seen in 2.1% of births, prematurity in 9,82%, and low birth weight in 9,3%. Following national data, Assis-SP was found to have cesarean rates above the WHO recommendation in adolescent women.
