Abstract: To fulfill Copasa's commitment to seek "the universalization of water and sewage services, with quality and in a sustainable way," the Regional Management Patos de Minas - GRPM performs continuous management of its interaction with the environment in which it operates. Care with impacts has always been present in the operational routine, although its follow-up was not evidenced in a structured way. To fill this gap, GRPM sought to innovate its management process of socio-environmental aspects and impacts, implementing a practice that promoted interaction between management and employees with reflections of the operation on the environment and society. A model was then developed, with the cooperation of corporate areas, the business unit, regional management, and systems, the latter being the focus of the work, as it is where all production processes take place. In the operational routine of its units, it identifies aspects and deals with the negative social and environmental impacts of its products, processes, and facilities through the PAMDA - Annual Plan for the Improvement of Social and Environmental Performance, developed based on the requirements of NBR ISO 14001, the main environmental reference available on the market. The operational teams identify the adverse aspects and analyze them according to the relevant legislation, using the Laisa worksheet - Survey of Socio-environmental Aspects and Impacts. Once non-compliance with regularity is verified or the existence of social and environmental liabilities, treatment actions are generated, registered in the PAMDA. The relationship between identified and mitigated impacts generates a compliance index, expressed in the MISA indicator - Mitigation of Socio-environmental Impacts. The PAMDA has an annual review and quarterly monitoring. The entire process is guided by the "PGP DOP Management of Socio-environmental Aspects and Impacts" standard.
