Abstract: In the academic context of higher education, the management of emotional intelligence constitutes a process that can be a conditioner for better performance for students. Some Physiotherapy course students express physical and/or mental overload due to many academic demands. Thus, thinking about managing emotional intelligence in student performance becomes relevant if the purpose is to improve your performance during your university years and prepare you for your professional future. This chapter aims to present the importance of managing emotional intelligence in the university training process of physiotherapy students during their undergraduate years and in their professional future. The concepts of emotional intelligence, management and emotional control approaches will be presented.
