GARANTIR A SEGURANÇA DOS PROFISSIONAIS DE SAÚDE PARA MANTER OS PACIENTES SEGUROS: REFLEXÃO EMERGENTE FRENTE A PANDEMIA DE COVID-19
Objetivo: discorrer sobre as ações preconizadas pela OMS para proteger os trabalhadores de saúde e sua relação com a segurança dos pacientes. Método: trata-se de ensaio teórico-reflexivo, construído a partir de amplo e abrangente estudo da literatura. Procedeu-se inicialmente à leitura de relatórios da OMS, em seguida, realizou-se vasta análise no google acadêmico acerca da temática, com intervalo temporal de dezembro de 2019 até janeiro de 2021. Resultados: a análise reflexiva da literatura permitiu apontar cinco categorias das ações preconizadas pela OMS para proteger os trabalhadores de saúde e garantir a segurança dos pacientes, as quais: sinergias entre a segurança do trabalhador de saúde e as políticas e estratégias de segurança do paciente; desenvolvimento e implementação dos programas nacionais de saúde ocupacional e segurança dos trabalhadores da saúde; proteção dos profissionais de saúde da violência no local de trabalho; melhoria da saúde mental e o bem-estar psicológico e a proteção dos profissionais de saúde dos perigos físicos e biológicos. Considerações finais: compreende-se que os profissionais da saúde estão vivenciam um momento singular em decorrência da pandemia da Covid-19, com isso os protocolos institucionais precisam ser frequentemente atualizadas, na perspectiva de assegurar uma assistência segura.

Abstract:
Objective: to discuss the actions recommended by the WHO to protect health workers and their relationship with patient safety. Method: this is a theoretical-reflective essay, built from a wide and comprehensive study of the literature. Initially, WHO reports were read, then a vast academic google analysis was carried out on the topic, with a time interval from December 2019 to January 2021. Results: the reflective analysis of the literature allowed us to point out five categories of actions advocated by WHO to protect health workers and ensure patient safety, including: synergies between health worker safety and patient safety policies and strategies; development and implementation of national occupational health and health worker safety programs; protection of health professionals from workplace violence; improving mental health and psychological well-being and protecting health professionals from physical and biological hazards. Final considerations: it is understood that health professionals are experiencing a unique moment as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, with this institutional protocols need to be frequently updated, with a view to ensuring safe care.
