FORTALECIMIENTO DE LAS COMPETENCIAS COMUNICATIVAS DEL INGLÉS A TRAVÉS DEL USO DE LOS ENTORNOS VIRTUALES DE APRENDIZAJE EN LOS ESTUDIANTES DE LICENCIATURA EN ESPAÑOL E INGLÉS DE UNA UNIVERSIDAD PRIVADA EN MEDELLÍN
El presente estudio evidencia avances significativos en el fortalecimiento de las competencias del inglés a través del uso de los EVA (entornos virtuales de aprendizaje), por lo tanto se propone implementar en las clases el uso de herramientas web que apoyen al proceso de enseñanza/aprendizaje. El estudio pretende fortalecer el proceso de enseñanza y formación del idioma inglés por medio de los entornos virtuales de aprendizaje, caracterizándolos, aplicándolos y evaluándolos, como apoyo a las competencias comunicativas. En su metodología, el estudio cuenta con un enfoque cualitativo de tipo exploratorio descriptivo, haciendo uso del cuestionario como instrumento de recolección de información y evaluación. Entre los resultados más sobresalientes se destacan: el interés de los estudiantes por aprender más acerca de las plataformas digitales, el poder construir y mejorar el proceso de aprendizaje desde un ambiente virtual más flexible y amigable, sumado a esto, la estrategia de Game Based Learning facilitó el proceso de enseñanza y la herramienta virtual H5P fue la que más acogida tuvo, debido a su versatilidad. Dentro de las principales conclusiones se encontro que: los entornos virtuales de aprendizaje desarrollaron un impacto favorable en el fortalecimiento de las competencias del inglés. Se despertó el interés por indagar acerca de otras herramientas virtuales y por implementar la estrategia de aprendizaje basada en juegos para incentivar la creatividad en el estudiante.

Abstract:
This study shows significant progress in strengthening English skills through the use of VLEs (virtual learning environments), therefore it’s proposed to implement in classes the use of web tools that support the teaching / learning process. . The study aims to strengthen the process of teaching and training the English language through virtual learning environments, characterizing, applying and evaluating them, as support for communication skills. In its methodology, the study has a qualitative approach of descriptive exploratory type, using the questionnaire as an instrument for collecting information and evaluation. Among the most outstanding results are: the interest of students in learning more about digital platforms, being able to build and improve the learning process from a more flexible and friendly virtual environment, added to this, the Game Based Learning strategy eased the teaching process and the virtual tool H5P was the most popular, due to its versatility. Among the main conclusions are: virtual learning environments developed a favorable impact on the strengthening of English skills, interest was aroused to inquire about other virtual tools and to implement the game-based learning strategy to encourage creativity in the student.
