FALHA NA COMUNICAÇÃO ENTRE PROFISSIONAIS DE SAÚDE E FAMÍLIA: PERCEPÇÕES DE ACADÊMICOS DE ENFERMAGEM COMMUNICATION FAILURE BETWEEN HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS AND FAMILY: PERCEPTIONS OF NURSING STUDENTS
Introdução: Sabe-se que a comunicação, além de estar incluída nas constantes discussões sobre a temática segurança do paciente, permeia questões de humanização e acolhimento em saúde, o que denota sua relevância. Objetivo: Relatar a experiência de acadêmicos de enfermagem durante a prática-clínica em um Hospital Universitário a respeito da comunicação entre profissionais de saúde e familiares de um paciente. Método: Trata-se de um estudo descritivo do tipo relato de experiência de discentes da graduação em enfermagem durante as práticas-clínicas supervisionadas em um Hospital Universitário do Sul do Brasil. Resultados e Discussão: Pode-se notar que durante a internação a família demonstrou algumas dúvidas relacionadas ao diagnóstico clínico e à assistência em saúde prestada a paciente devido à falta de uma comunicação eficiente entre a equipe de saúde e os familiares. Conclusão: Pode-se inferir que a falha na comunicação em saúde possui potencial em comprometer o desfecho do processo saúde-doença, seja na vida do paciente ou na vida de seus familiares e acompanhantes. Além disso, pode transgredir princípios e práticas de humanização e educação em saúde.

Abstract:
Introduction: It is known that communication, in addition to being included in constant discussions on the subject of patient safety, the construction of competent communication permeates issues of humanization and welcoming in health, which denotes its relevance. Objective: Report the experience of nursing students during clinical practices at a Universitary Hospital regarding the communication between healthcare professionals and a patient’s family. Method: It is a descriptive study of the type of experience report of students during supervised clinical practices at a University Hospital in Southern Brazil. Results and Discussion: It can be noted that during the patient’s hospitalization the family had doubts regarding the clinical diagnosis and health care provided to the patient due to the lack of efficient communication between the healthcare team and family members. Conclusion: It can be inferred that the failure in health communication has the potential to compromise the outcome of the health-disease process, either in the patient's or their family members and companions’ lives. Also, it can affect the humanization principles and practices and the health education process.
