FACTORES QUE INCIDEN EN EL PROCESO DE RETENCIÓN ESTUDIANTIL EN UN TECNOLÓGICO DEL NOROESTE DE MÉXICO
RESUMEN: El presente estudio de investigación aborda los factores que inciden en el proceso de retención estudiantil, en una institución del Tecnológico Nacional de México (TNM). En un primer contexto, tiene como propósito examinar el modelo de retención universitaria propuesto por Swail, Redd y Perna (2003). En efecto, inspeccionar la afectación de los factores de retención en la decisión del estudiante de mantenerse matriculado. Por consiguiente, se tiene la finalidad de desarrollar una exploración analítica y descriptiva que explique la retención educativa a su vez, atender y prevenir el abandono escolar.
Por medio de un análisis factorial exploratorio (AFE), se comprueba la correlación entre variables y la existencia de una articulación entre los factores de retención. Es decir, variables y componentes afectan las decisiones de los escolares por permanecer en el TNM. Este estudio de factores y variables permitirá establecer una tendencia que coadyuve a la institución escolar a desarrollar un programa de persistencia y retención universitaria.

Abstract:
This research study addresses the factors that affect the student retention process, in an institution of the National Technological Institute of Mexico (TNM). In a first context, its purpose is to examine the university retention model proposed by Swail, Redd and Perna (2003). In effect, inspect the impact of retention factors on the student's decision to stay enrolled. Therefore, the aim is to develop an analytical and descriptive exploration that explains educational retention, in turn, attend to and prevent school dropout.
By means of an exploratory factor analysis (EFA), the correlation between variables and the existence of a link between the retention factors are verified. In other words, variables and components affect the decisions of schoolchildren to remain in the TNM. This study of factors and variables will establish a trend that helps the school to the aim is to developing a university persistence and retention program.
