Abstract: International product prices have been registering significant increases in recent times, reaching historic levels, a trend that has seen new developments as a result of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. There is no forecast for the duration of this framework, creating a context of uncertainty, which placed Mozambique and countries in the region in a vulnerable situation, due to the existing competition for the same cargo with different destinations. It should be noted that this article aims to describe the current business scenario in the city of Nampula, verify the losses in its operations and what can jeopardize the guarantee of replacement capacity and continuity of supply. From a methodological, bibliographical point of view, the research was used to support the information collected in the field (Field), and the type of research is classified as exploratory, with a quantitative focus and is directly linked to the quantification of data. The results show that part of the speculation on prices in the city of Nampula confirms the reality of the material, given that there is a lot of influence from the increase in fuel prices (diesel – the main fuel used by trucks to transport heavy loads) on the rise in prices of basic necessities.
