EXTENSÃO UNIVERSITÁRIA CONTRIBUINDO PARA A CONSTRUÇÃO DE CONHECIMENTO EM PREVENÇÃO DAS INTOXICAÇÕES EM ANIMAIS
A extensão universitária é uma estratégia que possibilita uma maior articulação entre a instituição de ensino superior e a comunidade na qual ela se insere, com esse objetivo foi criado o Projeto de Extensão Educação em Saúde Humana e Animal: Estratégias de Prevenção das Intoxicações na Universidade Estadual do Ceará (UECE) no curso de Medicina Veterinária. Por meio desse foram realizados questionários com os tutores presentes no Hospital Veterinário Sylvio Barbosa Cardoso (HVSBC) no período de março a agosto de 2018 a fim de investigar a percepção desses sobre os principais toxicantes, bem como realizar um trabalho de prevenção de casos de intoxicações em animais. Com isso, totalizaram-se 165 enquetes, onde foi notável a falta de conhecimento dos tutores sobre os toxicantes em potencial para os animais domésticos.

Abstract:
University extension is a strategy that enables greater articulation between the higher education institution and the community in which it is inserted. For this purpose, the extension project for the prevention of poisoning in domestic animals was created at the State University of Ceará (UECE). in the course of Veterinary Medicine. Through this, questionnaires were conducted with tutors present at the Sylvio Barbosa Cardoso Veterinary Hospital (HVSBC) from March to August 2018 in order to investigate their perception of the main toxicants, as well as to carry out work to prevent poisoning cases. in animals. As a result, 165 surveys totaled, notably the tutors' lack of knowledge about potential toxicants for domestic animals.
