Ética de la sexualidad y conocimientos previos en jóvenes universitarios

• Abstract: Despite the advances in today's society, the subject of sexuality continues to be a taboo in many Latin American countries. This problem fragments their understanding and comprehension, bringing with it negative consequences in the personal and social lives of people since sexuality is a fundamental aspect. biopsychosocial and spiritual in human development. The research analyzed the deficiency of sexual education, due to the lack of access to reliable information, due to the conservatism of the parents, due to the diverse approaches that educational institutions have, due to the deficiency of open dialogue on these issues and the level of knowledge of university students about sexuality. The methodological approach was carried out in the socio-critical paradigm with a mixed approach, of an analytical observational type with a cross-sectional cut, in the university population of several higher education institutions of the medical career, both public and private, from a random probabilistic sample of 384 students over 18 years of age who gave their informed consent for the research, the results showed that university students of the medical career do not have full clarity about their knowledge of sexuality. The proposal opens a dialogical space in the university environment to promote sexual and reproductive health with a complex integrative approach linked to the multiple dimensions of the human being. The conclusions were analyzed by a group of students who reflected on the repercussions of the deficiency of knowledge about sexuality in young people of higher university education.
