ESTUDO ETNOFARMACOLÓGICO DE PLANTAS MEDICINAIS UTILIZADAS PELA POPULAÇÃO: UM CASO DO "DISTRITO DE TRAVESSÃO DE MINAS" (MINAS GERAIS - BRASIL)
O conhecimento tradicional do uso de plantas medicinais para tratamento de enfermidades é muito valioso. A etnofarmacologia ajuda entender a influência desses recursos na realidade de uma população, além de contribuir para direcionamento de pesquisas que visam a descoberta de novos fármacos. O objetivo do presente trabalho foi identificar as principais plantas medicinais utilizadas popularmente em Travessão de Minas - MG, e avaliar na literatura científica comprovação da eficácia terapêutica indicada pela comunidade. Para isso foram realizadas entrevistas com 78 pessoas, onde foi aplicado um questionário semi-estruturado. A partir das respostas foram calculados a Importância Relativa (IR) e a Frequência de Respostas (FR). Identificou-se um total de 145 espécies de plantas, distribuídas em 70 famílias botânicas. A Lippia alba obteve a maior FR = 81 respostas (8,9%) e a segunda maior IR=1,75. A literatura científica comprovou a eficácia somente de algumas indicações terapêuticas para Lippia alba, por isso estudos complementares são necessários.

Abstract:
The traditional knowledge of medicinal plants use for diseases treatment is very valuable. The ethnopharmacology helps to understand the influence of these resources in a reality of a population, in addition to contributing to the direction of research aimed at new drugs discovery. The purpose of this present study was to identify the main medicinal plants popularly used in Travessão de Minas – MG to evaluate in the scientific literature and prove the effectiveness of the therapy indicated by the community. Therefore, interviews were carried out with 78 individuals, using a semi-structured questionnaire. As for the answers there was calculated the Relative Importance (RI) and the Responses Frequency (RF). It was identified a total of 145 plants species used, distributed in 70 botanical families. Lippia alba (Erva-cidreira) had the highest RF = 81 responses (8,9%) and the second highest RI = 1,75. The scientific literature proves the effectiveness of only some therapeutic indications for Lippia alba, so further more studies are needed.
