• Abstract:

  This article is a study of the

  physical and mechanical properties: moisture,

  density and compressive strength of the wood

  of Angelim-Ferro and Cupiúba species in

  commercialization in Boa Vista-RR. Before a

  quantity of species worked in the municipality,

  began a study with the specific objective:

  to carry out the bibliographic survey and

  collection of samples of the species, perform

  the experiments to obtain the physical and

  mechanical properties and verify how much

  the data obtained experimentally approach the

  ABNT NBR 7190/1997. The methodology used

  includes bibliographical research, collection

  of samples of the species under study and

  experimental procedure carried out in the

  laboratory. At the end, the work carried out met the proposed objectives and proved

  satisfactory to the results obtained, showing the feasibility of future work being done

  using the data obtained in this work.
