Abstract: The 3d printing technique has been increasingly used in various sectors of the industry, due to its great versatility and potential. Due to this, it has been used in several sectors of the industry. However, the use of this manufacturing process in the naval sector is still modest. One of the issues to be discussed is the price of the manufactured parts and the variation of the properties of the parts with the variation of the printing parameters. In this way, this article will address how the variation of parameters such as printing angle, printing speed, filling and temperature of the layers change the properties of specimens, made of ABS, manufactured via 3d printing using the FDM technique (Fused Deposition Modeling). In addition, with the best parameters found, 3 prototypes of parts for the naval sector were manufactured: a prototype of a bearing, which is used in rudders of small vessels, a prototype of a propeller used in medium-sized vessels and a bearing prototype. To determine the mechanical properties, tensile and hardness tests were performed. Thus, the main objective of this article is to approach and analyze the use of 3d printing technology in the naval sector and the feasibility of this production process for this sector as well as the use of these pieces in teaching.
