Abstract: The application of mathematical models in the field of epidemiology is in full development. In this study, parameter values for two mathematical models of HIV virus dynamics were estimated. The first model represents the long-term dynamics of the HIV virus, while the second represents the short-term dynamics of state variables. The model parameters were estimated using the following optimization methods in Mathematica software: Differential Evolution, Nelder-Mead, and Simulated Annealing. The mathematical models were represented in terms of status variables for uninfected cells, infected cells, and free viral particles, with infected cells classified as productively and latently infected. The results obtained in this study were compared with simulated measures and models from the literature. The obtained results showed good agreement and allowed for the analysis of virus dynamics, verifying the optimization methods used in this study.
