ESTATUTO DO IDOSO: CONHECIMENTO DOS PROFISSIONAIS DA SAÚDE
Introdução: A mudança na estrutura etária da população, em razão da evolução tecnológica e da melhoria das condições de vida vem fazendo com que a população idosa aumente. Objetivo: Avaliar o conhecimento do profissional da saúde de nível superior que atua em um hospital público de ensino, com relação ao Estatuto do Idoso. Método: Trata-se de um estudo quantitativo, com foco na avaliação da atenção aos direitos da pessoa idosa, na rede de saúde. Os dados foram obtidos através da análise dos questionários pelas ferramentas estatísticas de Mann-Whitney, o teste de Kruskal-Wallis e a estatística Alpha de Cronbach. Resultados: Amostra com 131 profissionais, sendo predominante a participação de médicos e enfermeiros, quanto ao atendimento diário ao idoso, 98% diz atender diariamente, e sobre o quanto conhece o Estatuto do Idoso, 73% refere conhecer pouco. Conclusão: os profissionais da saúde em atividade, no atendimento a pessoa idosa, desconhecem os aspectos legais que doutrinam o Estatuto do Idoso, dessa forma encontram dificuldades em promover intervenções ou organizar ações que possam proteger essas pessoas, principalmente em situações de vulnerabilidade.

Abstract:
Introduction: The change in the age structure of the population, due to technological developments and the improvement of living conditions, has caused the elderly population to increase. Objective: To evaluate the knowledge of health professionals with higher education who work in a public teaching hospital, in relation to the Elderly Statute. Method: This is a quantitative study, focusing on the assessment of attention to the rights of the elderly, in the health network. The data were obtained through the analysis of the questionnaires by the Mann-Whitney statistical tools, the Kruskal-Wallis test and the Cronbach's Alpha statistic. Results: Sample with 131 professionals, with the predominance of doctors and nurses, regarding daily care for the elderly, 98% say they attend daily, and about how much they know the Elderly Statute, 73% say they know little. Conclusion: active health professionals, in the care of the elderly, are unaware of the legal aspects that indoctrinate the Elderly Statute, thus finding it difficult to promote interventions or organize actions that can protect these people, especially in situations of vulnerability.
