ESQUIZOFRENIA E SUAS REPERCUSSÕES NA QUALIDADE DE VIDA DO PACIENTE.
Objetivo Relatar um caso clínico de um paciente psiquiátrico esquizofrênico, que sofreu abandono familiar, e a influência em sua vida. Detalhamento do caso Paciente, 41 anos, solteiro, nascido em 20/01/1997, aposentado, diagnosticado com esquizofrenia. Em consulta de rotina comparece com queixas nos pés e vômitos após uso de medicação anti-retroviral, devido à infecção pelo vírus HIV (vírus da imunodeficiência adquirida – AIDS). O que chamou atenção neste estudo é o fato do paciente ter recebido alta da instituição há 4 anos e a família não ter comparecido para buscá-lo. O paciente não tem conhecimento que já está alta e continua aguardando. Considerações finais O abandono familiar em casos de transtornos psiquiátricos é frequente devido às dificuldade de lidar com os momentos de crise e de mantê-los em convívio com a sociedade. Sendo assim, é necessário o auxílio de hospitais-dia e outros mecanismos que possibilitem o controle dos transtornos destes pacientes, o que pode evitar o abandono familiar.

Abstract:
Objective To report a clinical case of a psychiatric patient, schizophrenic, who suffered family abandonment and the influence on his life. Details of the case Pacient, 41 years old, single, born on 01/20/1997, retired, diagnosed with schizophrenia. On a routine visit, he comes in with complaints about his feet and vomiting after using antiretroviral medication due to infection with the AIDS virus. What drew attention in this study is the fact that the patient was discharged from the institution 4 years ago and the family does not come to pick him up, the patient does not know that he is already discharged and continues to wait. Final considerations Family abandonment in cases of psychiatric disorders is frequent due to difficulties in dealing with moments of crisis and keeping them in contact with society. Therefore, the assistance of day hospitals and other mechanisms that allow the control of these patients is necessary, not leading to the need for family abandonment.
