Abstract: This article aims to examine three core aspects: (a) the role of pedagogical theories in the context of remote language teaching; (b) the effectiveness of remotely delivered English classes in relation to the State Curriculum Guidelines; and (c) students' perceptions of this educational experience. Employing a qualitative approach, the research is grounded in Applied Linguistics and contemporary teaching-learning theories, with a focus on remote education. The methodology involves classroom observation and the administration of questionnaires to a representative sample of students. The theoretical contributions of scholars such as Leffa (1999), Lopes (2000), and Figueiredo (2011) were instrumental in shaping the analytical framework. The findings offer partial insights into the methodological strategies employed by teachers of English in educationally vulnerable contexts.
