ENTRE O FORMAL E O NÃO-FORMAL – ESPAÇOS ONDE A EDUCAÇÃO POPULAR PODE (E DEVE) ATUAR. E, PARA COMEÇAR, PORQUE NÃO JÁ NA EDUCAÇÃO DE JOVENS E ADULTOS?
Este trabalho traz um pouco da
trajetória da Educação de Jovens e Adultos
no Brasil e suas imbricações com a Educação
Popular no bojo dos movimentos sociais.
Objetiva-se problematizar estas duas vertentes
ressaltando suas disparidades e congruências.
Como base destas reflexões temos um trabalho
de investigação etnográfica realizado numa
escola de ensino público de EJA, localizada
aos pés de uma favela da zona norte do Rio de
Janeiro, fruto de nossa pesquisa de mestrado.
Dentro desta esfera, procura-se ainda entender
os conceitos de educação formal, não-formal
e informal e o lugar ocupado pela EJA e a
Educação Popular nestes espaços, bem como
revendo questões de currículo, cujas falas e
exclamações desses alunos e alunas podem
dizer em grande medida o que se espera por
uma educação, de fato, emancipadora e plural.
Eis o desafio que se coloca a quem se aventura
a conjugar, em seus lugares de atuação, a
EJA com a Educação Popular - ao nosso ver,
essenciais num projeto de construção coletiva
de uma outra sociedade - oportunidade em que
as diferenças podem e devem ser ressaltadas,
assim como desveladas as desigualdades e
diversidades, que devem ser problematizadas
no cotidiano de espaços formais, não-formais e
informais de educação.

Abstract:
This work brings some of the
trajectory of Youth and Adult Education in
Brazil and its entanglements with Popular
Education in the social movements. We aim to
problematize these two aspects by highlighting
their disparities and congruences. As a basis
for these reflections we have an ethnographic
research carried out in a public school of EJA,
located at the foot of a favela in the north
of Rio de Janeiro, the result of our master’s
research. Within this sphere, it is also sought to
understand the concepts of formal, non-formal
and informal education and the place occupied
by the EJA and Popular Education in these
spaces, as well as reviewing curriculum issues,
whose speeches and exclamations of these
students to a great extent what is expected by
an education, in fact, emancipatory and plural.
This is the challenge facing those who venture
to combine, in their places of action, the EJA
with Popular Education - in our view, essential
in a project of collective construction of another
society - opportunity in which differences can
and should be emphasized, as well as unveiled the inequalities and diversities, which
must be problematized in the everyday of formal, non-formal and informal spaces of
education.
