Abstract: Between the teaching of Art and the teaching of Philosophy: concept, function, challenges and approximation. Here we intend to address the concepts and definitions of both Art and Philosophy. In a second moment, we will start the reflection that revolves around the function and importance of art and philosophy for the formative process of the human being in a significant way, and which takes place, mainly, within the school environment. In a third moment, we will address the challenges that orbit around the teaching of Art and the teaching of Philosophy. In a fourth moment, we will address the interdisciplinary relationship that may exist between the teaching of Art and the teaching of Philosophy. The methodology used was the literature review, where we cite the following theoretical contributions to support the discussion: Aranha (1990); Aspis (2004); Barbosa (1986); Chaui (2000); Gallina (2004); Frank (1960); Eisner (1991); Roege (2013); Vilaça (2014), among others that will appear in the body of the text.
