Abstract: This study presents an innovative approach to teaching elliptical, parabolic, and hyperbolic curves in high school, using practical paper-folding activities. We explore the mathematical properties of these curves, emphasizing the Theory of Billiards, a branch of Mathematics that applies the reflective properties of these curves to generate high-level mathematical science. The purpose of this work is to justify the effectiveness of the paper-folding process and provide a tutorial to empower high school teachers to integrate this additional tool into their classes. The proposal aims to offer a differentiated teaching approach, with the goal of enhancing the teaching and learning process, especially in a challenging topic like Analytical Geometry, where students often encounter disinterest and difficulties.
