Abstract: Introduction: Endometriosis is a chronic gynecological condition characterized by the presence of endometrial tissue outside the uterine cavity. It can lead to various conditions and symptoms such as severe dysmenorrhea, constant and deep dyspareunia, chronic pelvic pain, pain during ovulatory periods, urinary or intestinal disorders, ongoing fatigue, and especially infertility. This condition can significantly impact women's social, emotional, and professional lives, often resulting in anxiety and depression. Objective: This article explores how the conditions associated with endometriosis can influence patients’ anxiety levels. Materials and Methods: This is a literature review. Data collection involved articles published in the Scientific Electronic Library Online (SCIELO), the Virtual Health Library (VHL), and books. Results and Discussion: Several relevant aspects related to the health of women suffering from endometriosis are identified and analyzed, which may lead to symptoms of anxiety. Among these are feelings of frustration, misunderstanding, and loneliness, stemming from the perceived vulnerability linked to the severity of the clinical presentation caused by endometriosis symptoms—especially when diagnosis is delayed or treatment is inadequate—worsening the patients’ psychological state. Final Considerations: The results indicate that women with endometriosis experience impairments in both mental health and emotional well-being, as the symptoms they present are correlated with elevated levels of anxiety.
