ENDODONTIA EM PACIENTES ODONTOPEDIÁTRICOS: ANÁLISE DA IMPORTÂNCIA DO TRATAMENTO ENDODÔNTICO EM DENTES DECÍDUOS
O presente estudo visa demonstrar a efetividade do tratamento endodôntico em dentes decíduos, bem como apresentar justificativas para a utilização dessa alternativa, principalmente em razão de sua importância na conservação do elemento dental e, por consequência, na manutenção da harmonia oclusal. Com efeito, o trabalho estrutura-se em um referencial teórico, no qual são feitas as revisões da literatura sobre a etiologia da doença pulpar nos dentes decíduos, dos métodos diagnósticos e terapêuticos disponíveis atualmente, bem como dos resultados obtidos pela utilização do tratamento pulpar em detrimento do procedimento de exodontia. Fundamentando-se em tais pressupostos, apoia-se a utilização da endodontia em dentes decíduos, como forma mais eficiente de manutenção da saúde bucal, especialmente em razão da permanência do dente e, em um primeiro momento, de suas funções estética e funcional, e, posteriormente, da harmonia oclusal dos futuros dentes permanentes.

Abstract:
This study aims to demonstrate the effectiveness of endodontic treatment in primary teeth, as well as presenting justifications for the use of this alternative, mainly because of its importance in the conservation of the dental element and therefore the maintenance of occlusal harmony. Indeed, the work is structured into a theoretical referential, where are made reviews of the literature about the etiology of pulpal disease in primary teeth, diagnostic and therapeutic methods currently available, as well as the results obtained by the use of pulp treatment instead the extraction procedure. Basing on these assumptions, supports the use of Endodontics in primary teeth as a more efficient way of maintaining oral health, especially due to the permanence of the tooth and, at first, their aesthetic and functional features, and subsequently, the occlusal harmony of future permanent teeth.
