ELETROQUÍMICA – UMA REVISÃO DE CONCEITOS BÁSICOS
As reações conhecidas como oxidação-redução, as quais envolvem a transferência de elétrons são a base de processos importantíssimos usados no nosso dia-a-dia, como por exemplo, o funcionamento das pilhas e baterias. Sendo assim, este capítulo apresenta uma breve abordagem a respeito da eletroquímica, o estudo das relações entre a eletricidade e as suas reações químicas redox, a espontaneidade dessas reações, os tipos de células eletroquímicas mais conhecidas, bem como o funcionamento dessas, e por fim, algumas equações essenciais nesse campo.

Abstract:
Chemical reactions known as oxidation-reduction (redox), which involve the transfer of electrons between two atoms, are the basis of very important processes present in our daily lives, such as the functioning of cells and batteries. Therefore, this chapter presents a brief approach to electrochemistry, the study of how electricity and redox chemical reactions are related, as well as the spontaneity of these reactions, the most known types of electrochemical cells, their functioning and some essential equations in this area.
