Abstract: The demand for spaces for students in public higher education institutions has increased in recent years pertly at the behest of governments, hence universities and technology companies have had to design strategies that allow them to open spaces to respond to these demands, also trying to maintain its quality. Applicants to enter universities tend to evaluate various elements that make it easier for them, in their opinion, to make the best choice. On this basis, this work design to identify the indicators related to the academic classification of universities, with the intention of correcting the areas of opportunity according to the latest results. These indicators are made up of criteria such as the quality of teachers, research, postgraduate programs offered and prestige, among others; these criteria are regulated according to various organizations using various methodologies. On this basis, the objective of this research is analyze the elements that make up the academic classification indicators, particularizing those that represent areas of opportunity due to their low score, to propose strategies that help improve educational quality. As information gathering instruments, a survey was designed that was completed bye undergraduate students. For this purpose, a faculty with several educational programs was selected; in addition, a documentary study and statistical information was carried out; as a result of this work, its expected to outline a proposal that promotes improvement in the studied indicators.
