EL PASEO SANTA LUCÍA DE MONTERREY: UN RESCATE URBANO PARA EL ARTE, LA CULTURA Y EL ESPARCIMIENTO
El Paseo Santa Lucía en Monterey es un modelo de rescate urbano con la inclusión de un canal navegable, obras de arte y la conexión entre dos sitios emblemáticos de la ciudad: los Museos de Historia Mexicana y del Noreste e n el centro de la ciudad y el Museo Horno 3 en el Parque Fundidora. En este trabajo resaltamos su importancia como corredor de arte, lugar de esparcimiento y atractivo turístico. Para llevar a cabo la investigación nos basamos en la bibliografía publicada tanto en libros como en artículos periodísticos que versan sobre su origen y desarrollo desde antes de 1995, hasta el año 2009 en que se colocó la última obra artística, además de la observación y análisis de los monumentos que se encuentra instalados a lo largo del Paseo. La descripción del conjunto de obras que se encuentran en el lecho del canal es un aporte para la concientización sobre el valor del patrimonio artístico y cultural que ha obtenido la ciudad en sus últimos años.

Abstract:
The Paseo Santa Lucía in Monterey is a model of urban rescue with the inclusion of a navigable canal, works of art and the connection between two emblematic sites of the city: the Museums of Mexican and Northeast History in the center of the city and the Horno 3 Museum in Fundidora Park. In this work we highlight its importance as an art corridor, a place of recreation and a tourist attraction. To carry out the research we rely on the bibliography published both in books and in journalistic articles that deal with its origin and development from before 1995, until 2009, when the last artistic work was placed, in addition to observation and analysis of the monuments that are installed along the Paseo. The description of the set of works found on the canal bed is a contribution to raising awareness about the value of the artistic and cultural heritage that the city has obtained in its last years.
