Efeito translaminar de extratos orgânicos de Piper amalago var. medium , sob larvas de Tuta absoluta (MEYRICK) (LEPIDOPTERA:GELECHIIDAE), na cultura do tomateiro.
O tomateiro (Solanum lycopersicum L.) (Família: Solanacea) é uma espécie vegetal cosmopolita que possui uma grande importância sócio econômica (SOUZA, 2003). Existe uma alta perda de produtividade por hectare proveniente de pragas e doenças. Dentre as principais, a mais nociva delas é a Tuta absoluta (Lepidoptera: Gelechiidae)O principal método de controle deste inseto é através intensivo uso de pesticidas químico sintéticos, porém é evidenciado a sua baixa eficiência desde a década de 90 (FRANÇA, 1993) e devido as más práticas de aplicação desses produtos, vem favorecendo o aparecimento de alelos resistentes e demandando uma quantidade cada vez maior de produto, acarretando uma alta no custo de produção. Por esses motivos vem se aprimorando pesquisas com extrato botânico para o controle de diversas pragas. Plantas do gênero piper são promissoras pois apresentam metabolitos com efeitos inseticidas interessantes como a amida piperina. (MIYAKADO et al., 1979; MIYAKADO et al., 1989; PAULA et al., 2000; PARK et al., 2002; ESTRELA et al., 2003). O experimento realizado não identificou o efeito translaminar de extrado de P.amalago var. médium.

Abstract:
The tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.) (Family: Solanacea) is a cosmopolitan vegetable species that has great socio-economic importance (SOUZA, 2003). There is a high loss of productivity per hectare from pests and diseases. Among the main ones, the most harmful of them is the Tuta absoluta (Lepidoptera: Gelechiidae). The main method of controlling this insect is through intensive use of synthetic chemical pesticides, however its low efficiency is evidenced since the 90's (FRANCE, 1993) and due to the bad application practices of these products, it has been favoring the appearance of resistant alleles and demanding an increasing amount of product, causing an increase in the production cost. For these reasons research has been improving with botanical extract to control various pests. Piper plants are promising because they have metabolites with interesting insecticidal effects such as piperine amide. (MIYAKADO et al., 1979; MIYAKADO et al., 1989; PAULA et al., 2000; PARK et al., 2002; ESTRELA et al., 2003). The experiment did not identify the translaminar effect of P.amalago var. medium.
